Dr. Peachell grew up in the mountaineering mecca of Winnipeg, Manitoba but spent most of his adult life working and playing in the mountains of Alberta and B.C. He graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta and has extensive experience in teaching and practicing all aspects of cardiac surgery, trauma and critical illnesses. In addition, Dr. Peachell has completed courses in mountain & altitude medicine, wilderness medicine, CPR, Advanced Adult, Pediatric and Trauma Life Support and Wilderness Advanced Life Support. He is currently completing an International Diploma in Mountain Medicine. His passion for the outdoors and dedication to teaching first aid is a valuable asset to the students that take a WMC course.
Shelley grew up in Ontario but now calls beautiful British Columbia home. She obtained a degree in Biology, is a licensed Massage Therapist and has owned and operated her own small business in the past. She is the Co-Founder and day-to-day manager of operations for WMC. She has completed many courses in Wilderness Medicine, including a Wilderness EMT course and is involved in the organizing and teaching of our various courses. She also is responsible for creating custom courses and developing the curriculum. Her love of outdoor adventure and commitment to teaching is a big part of the success of WMC.
